Women's Health Workshop and Check-up camp organised at
Institute's Campus
Barli Development Institute for Rural
Women and Lion’s Club International
(Lion’s Club of Indore Dynamic) jointly
organized a free medical and eye
check-up camp for 70 trainees at Barli
Institute’s campus (180 Bhamori,
Indore) at 11.00 a.m on February 17,
The medical camp began with an introduction of the Barli
Institute and it’s activities by the Chief Operating Officer,
Mr.Yogesh Jadhav. The Director of the Institute, Mrs.
Tahera Jadhav, welcomed the guests. Chairman of Lions
International, Dr. Bindal, and Secretary Mr. Khandwalkar,
briefed the trainees about the activities of the club. Dr.
Mrs. Monika Bindal also spoke to the trainees about the
importance of health and hygiene and common causes of
Leucorrhoea and Amenorrhea.
Senior doctors (Dr. Umeja, Eye Specialist Guru
Teg  Bahadur Charitable Trust),  Dr (Mrs).
Monika Bindal (Senior Gynaecologist, Charak
Hospital), Dr. Bindal (Charak Hosptal and City
Hospital, Malwa Mill) and Dr. Gupta (Dentist)
were the doctor fraternity who conducted the
medical camp.  
The camp benefitted around 70 Barli trainees, who
hail from 25 villages of Khargone, Dhar, Badwani,
Alirajpur, Dewas and Sehore. These trainees had
come to Barli Development Institute for  Rural
women for a six-month residential course wherein
they learn Literacy, Health, Cutting and tailoring,
Self and community development. They also get
hands on practical experience in Organic farming,
Solar cooking and environmental protection.
