    Celebrate by Hoisting the National Flag and singing regional songs etc.
    At 8:00am on 26th January
    students and staff of
    gathered in the area in front
    of dormitory complex to
    celebrate India's 60th
    Republic Day.

    26th January 1950 is one of
    the most important days in
    Indian history as it was on
    this day the constitution of
    India came into force and
    India became a truly
    sovereign state. In this day India became a totally republican unit.
    The country finally realized the dream of Mahatma Gandhi and the numerous freedom fighters
    who, fought for and sacrificed their lives for the Independence of their country. So, the 26th of
    January was decreed a national holiday and has been recognized and celebrated as the Republic
    Day of India, ever since.
    Celebrations started by blowing on a conch shell by the chief
    guest Mr. Tapan Muckarjee. Students from Jhabua, Khargone,
    Khandwa and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh unfurled the
    National Flag.
    Mr. Tapan Mukerjee addressed the students and told then about
    the importance of India's Republic Day
    Director Janak McGilligan also addressed the students.
    Patriotic Songs were sung by Miss Radha Chohan Khargone, Mrs
    Manta Rawal Chattisgarh, Miss Mandi Bhane Khargone, Miss
    Binu, Bihar, Mrs. Manna Sharma Tripuria Miss Yashoda Dhar
    and Miss Reena Dawar from Khargone.
    Programme was conducted by Mrs. Dhedi Bhadhare
    Programme ended by singing National Anthem
    Students then watched the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on
    a large screen via satellite TV.
